How to Make Fancy Baby Shower Cupcakes |
Make sure you bake enough cupcakes to go around. If you're only having 6 people, you may want
For God so loved the world that he gave his one
and only Son,that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal live. John 3:16 (NIV) |
However, it's not too difficult to make them from scratch. I'll show you how! Here's what you'll need:
2 eggs (large)
1 cup of milk
1 tsp of vanilla
1/2 cups of shortening
3 tsp of baking power
1 and 1/3 cups of sugar
2 and 1/4 cups of white flour
Go ahead and preheat your oven to 350 degrees while we work on the cupcakes themselves.
Grab a large bowl, and pour in the sugar, salt, flour, milk, vanilla, shortening and the baking powder. Beat for around a minute, then add in the eggs and beat for another two or three minutes, so long as everything is all mixed together.
Take a cupcake pan, and add in the liners. You can find baby themed liners if you look around, or grab the colors of your shower (pink, green and blue work well). Pour the batter into the cupcake liners until around two thirds full (they will expand and flow over the top).
Let them cook in the oven for around 23 minutes, until they pass the toothpick test. Be sure to let them cool before decorating!
You can decorate the baby shower cupcakes with frosting in any way that would relate to your shower. You can use the colors of the scheme, or do designs on the top of the cupcakes.
A classic is to ice the top of the cupcakes like a face. Pink, blue, or skin colored icing makes the skin - then draw in little eyes and a nose on the face. You can either draw on the mouth, or for an added touch,
put a small pacifier in each mouth. If you want to go all out, you can even make a bib or a little hat for it out of fondant, but this requires a huge amount of time, especially if you're new to cake decorating.
Serve the cupcakes on a cake rack for added effect!
So there you go, an easy way to make fancy looking baby shower cupcakes that is sure to please the crowd!
