Quick one dish meals can be the answer to a busy woman's prayers at the end of the day. We all know how hectic a day can be. You have a job that you go to for eight hours. You have to remember to pick up the dry cleaning. Your daughter has dance lessons and your son has football practice and you have to get them there on time. Somewhere during all of this chaos, you have to find time to cook dinner for your family. Wouldn't it be nice to have quick one dish meals which you can prepare in a jiffy before the kids say "Mom, is dinner ready yet"?
Now, what if you don't have children? What if you are a couple or you are single? Cooking for one or two can be difficult. When you come up with quick one dish meals you will be set to go and maybe even have leftovers for the next day or two.
Here is a great meal that you put together and that's it. One dish for one meal, it's perfect.
Mexican Beef Skillet
For this quick one dish meal, you will need the following ingredients.
1/2 package (6 oz) uncooked macaroni noodles
1 lb of hamburger
1 small green pepper chopped
1/2 medium onion chopped
1 clove garlic
1 - 6 oz can of diced tomatoes
1 - 8 oz jar of picante sauce
1 cup frozen corn
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Fritos
Sour cream
2-3 green onions diced
Cook the macaroni noodles and drain them when they are done. While they are cooking, cut up the green peppers and onion. Combine the green peppers and onions with hamburger and clove of garlic. Cook until hamburger is browned, and drain the excess grease. Stir in the can of tomatoes, picante sauce, corn and salt. Add the cooked macaroni noodles and mix well. Stir in the cheese. Serve with the Fritos, a dollop of sour cream and top with a pinch of the green onions if desired. Be sure to refrigerate any leftovers. You can have the rest for lunch the next day.
This is just one example of quick one dish meals and it takes approximately 30 minutes to make. It is very flavorful and very filling. It has meat, vegetables, and pasta all in one dish. You only dirty up two pans to make this meal, so clean up is a breeze as well. If you prefer chicken over beef, you could use shredded chicken and cook the rest the same way.
So would you be interested in quick one dish meals? When you find yourself with a busy day ahead of you and you think that the only way you will be able to get dinner for the family is to go to a fast food restaurant, think again. It is expensive to go to a fast food restaurant, and let's face it, a home cooked meal tastes much better. Try quick one dish meals instead. Start with the Mexican Beef Skillet.
