Five Tips For Safe Grilling Using Propane
by Johny Young Lee

Fishers of Men

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal live. John 3:16 (NIV)

There are many people who love to grill outside, but sometimes there might be times when something goes wrong with the propane tank or the grill itself. You could try to fix it, or you can wait for the manufacturers to come and do something about it, but you need to know some safety tips when you're waiting for them to come fix it. Here are some tips to keep yourself safe from potential grilling problems.

1) The first thing you can do starts from when you buy the propane tank. When you buy it, make sure you put it in your car in an upright position inside a cartlike box, like a milk carton box. This prevents the tank from rolling around and potentially hitting a sharp object in the car and having it leak.

2) When you get the tank home, make sure to leave it in an upright position for the same reasons as in part one. Also, keep it outside at regular temperature away from the grill so that nothing abnormal might happen to the tank.

3) When you're hooking up the tank to the grill, make a mixture of dish soap and water and cover the hose and couplings with it. This is so that if the gas is leaking, it will form a bubble in those areas so that it's easier to spot. This will let you call the manufacturers quickly and without potential harm when using the grill.

4) Always have the grill lid open when you're turning on the grill. This is so that it prevents any harm to yourself and to have a safe surrounding when you are grilling those delicious steaks.

5) Last, but not least, once you have turned on the grill, put your hand a couple of inches above the grill to make sure that you can feel the heat. If you don't, immediately turn off the grill and check to see if there is a problem with the propane tank. If you can't figure it out, call the experts so that they can come check it out.

If you follow these five tips, you will drastically reduce the potential harm grilling can do you so you can continue to grill happily.
