With this coconut shrimp recipe, you can easily create a great appetizer or a main dish. It is very simple to prepare and can be served immediately. This recipe is best created for a meal of a family or even an appetizer for a group of people such as a football or other sports party.

Fishers of Men

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal live. John 3:16 (NIV)

The ingredients for this recipe are 15 medium shrimps, 2 cups of flour, two eggs beaten, garlic powder, chili powder, salt, and 3/4 cup of finely shredded coconut.

To prepare the coconut shrimp you must first, peel the shrimp shell, devein, dehead, and wash it in clean ice water. Next, dry the shrimp for few minutes. Sprinkle some salt, pepper and garlic powder on the shrimp. Now in separate bowl mix flour, egg, and beat it until you get a batter. Moving on, dip the shrimp in the batter and roll it on the shredded coconut. Gently press the coconut on the shrimp to coat thoroughly. Now arrange the shrimps in a baking sheet and transfer it to a pre-heated oven. Finally, you will bake the shrimp for 10 -12 minutes until they are golden brown. You can then serve it with sauce or tropical salsas depending on your taste.

While serving, fresh pineapple salsa is used. The ingredients for pineapple salsa are 1 cup of finely chopped pineapple, 1/3 cup of chopped red onions, One cup of fresh limejuice and 1/4 teaspoon of pepper to taste. Gently mix the ingredient in a bowl and serve it with the coconut shrimp.

With this coconut shrimp recipe you will want to make sure that your taste buds are up to the liking of coconut because it has such a strong taste. Seafood in itself has a "fishy" taste but with a recipe such as this, you can isolate that taste with something your taste buds acquire more.
